We have a vacancy for a 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) Administrator
in our Emergency Department.
Mō te tūnga | About the role
Christchurch Emergency Department (ED) is the largest ED in
the South Island seeing more than 110,000 patients per year and covers a
population catchment area of 500,000. We
are part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in the Emergency Department at
Christchurch Hospital.
The ED Administration roster is 24 hours, 7 days per
week. It is critical applicants are able
and willing to work the full range of day, night and weekend shifts.
This is a busy and demanding role, being the initial point
of contact for patients arriving at the Emergency Department and ensuring
patient management systems are accurately updated and processes carried out in
a timely manner.
You will have good keyboard / computer skills, an ability to
communicate effectively, have cultural awareness and be able to demonstrate an
ability to work and contribute within a team environment. A sound administration
background is essential. Knowledge of
patient management systems would be advantageous.
In this role you will be

**responsible for**:

- Administration of the CDHB patient management

system
- Prioritising competing admin tasks for efficient
patient flow
- Processing patient information, records and
Accident Compensation information
- Showing respect and maintaining confidentiality
of information
- Providing great customer service to patients,
staff and whanau
- Having empathy, being calm under pressure, and
