- The Collab Communications team within the Teams & Education Supergroup is on a mission to bring Canva users together in our product.- We're responsible for the Commenting and Real-time features for all Canva users. The team leads high scale, critically important services that allow our users to collaborate on products. It is currently one large multi-functional delivery team, but we’ve got plans to split into two teams, and this role is a key part in helping enable that.- We’ve made incredible progress in making it easy to lead collaboration at scale, and with a clear mission and crazy big goals to make it even better- We are looking for a Team Lead with front end expertise to help us achieve our goals.- You’ll coach and mentor other engineers to help them do their best work, while partnering with multi-functional leads to roadmap goals and milestones. You’ll be communicating with partners from outside the team to ensure project alignment and coordination. Code reviews will be what you do to ensure code is maintainable, well tested, and well-architected.**What you'll do | Ōu Haepapa**:

- Be instrumental in driving design, development, and deployment of software solutions.
- Your vision and expertise will influence technical strategy and provide supportive coaching to your team in an innovation-focused environment.
- You will empower your team to deliver large-scale projects from conceptualisation to completion within start-up time frames to develop new features and products.
- By focusing on the human element of coaching, you will promote a safe and healthy culture focusing on collaboration and open communication.
- You will immediately have a team of 3/4 Canvanauts to expand the scope of responsibility across multiple teams.
- Your inspiration guides your team to innovate, invent, implement and deploy sophisticated software solutions in a sophisticated distributed and critical environment.
- You will understand the need to experiment, measure, deploy, or move on quickly.
- Your team's success will be supported by setting up and running ongoing feedback sessions and initiatives. You will help drive a healthy code review culture, design showcases, and help improve processes using retrospectives.
- You will provide technical guidance and mentoring for the team to ensure what we build is maintainable, reliable and performant.

**About you | He Kōrero Mōu**:

- You have discovered that you have a rare talent for motivating people - having previously led small impactful teams of 4-8 members.
- Understand the need to be Product Driven - understand the product life cycle, features, technical debt, QA, and supporting quality at speed.
- Your coding proficiency will still be that of a top-tier Senior Front End Engineer; however, you will have found the love and passion for Coaching People and developing a culture that enables teams to be their best.
- You will be more than happy to work in our environment - our core stack is Microservices Java backend with a React/Typescript frontend.
- You will have optimally delivered projects in a large-scale cloud-based environment.
- Your excellent written and verbal communication skills will enable you to manage partners and communicate effectively across other groups.
- You will have the ability to work with a diverse range of Canvanauts from different backgrounds and with different needs.
- In order of preference, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to lead and empower teams, your 1st class technical skills followed by your product delivery capability.
