Auckland City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

The Civil Aviation Authority and the Aviation Security Service offer distinctively different career opportunities and embrace diverse talent. All jobs at the Authority contribute to ensuring safe and secure skies to help New Zealand fly.

The Civil Aviation Authority is the regulatory arm of our organisation and the Aviation Security Service is the nationwide provider for aviation security.

Working at our organisation you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to safe and secure skies, for New Zealand.
Tēnei tūranga │ About the Role
Aviation Security Service (AvSec) is the Government provider of aviation security in Aotearoa New Zealand, operating at our six major airports. Part of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), our role is to deliver premier aviation security, while enabling a high quality, responsive passenger experience. Part of our role is using intelligence to enable decision makers make risk-based decisions by producing analytical and investigative assessments and communicating the resulting intelligence to keep New Zealand safe and secure.
We currently have two Intelligence Analysts vacancies based within Auckland CBD and at Auckland Airport. We would love to hear from you if you work as an:

- Intelligence Support or Junior Analyst role, wanting to move into more analytical work, or
- an experienced Analyst looking for a fresh challenge or change of direction. Each role will have a specific focus on either working within the Integrated Targeting Operational Centre (ITOC) or assessing intelligence on non-passengers at Auckland Airport.

The ITOC is a multi-agency approach to protecting our borders. Other agencies include NZ Customs, Immigration NZ (MBIE), NZ Police, MPI, and the Ministry of Health. The ability to receive intelligence from agencies such and Police and Customs will provide insight into current risks within our communities and internationally, allowing analysis of a wide range of information to help provide foresight into potential future risk.
AvSec also carries out a range of security functions and activities including screening airport workers, crew and their baggage. Part of this role will be ensuring airport environments and aircraft travel remains safe and secure from potential internal threats.
Ko tāu e kawe mai ai | What You’ll Bring
As an Intelligence Analyst, you will demonstrate professional curiosity, an adaptive approach to set tasks and the ability to provide insight and foresight on a range of complex problems and issues. **Ideally you will have the following**:

- Research, analytical and evaluative skills or relevant and equivalent experience.
- Sound skills in producing written and visual intelligence products and delivering verbal briefings.
- The ability to develop relationship across a broad group of stakeholders. Ideally you will have the NZDIA (NZ Diploma in Intelligence Analysis) or have it underway or commit to it. We will support our team through this qualification.

As a safety regulator, the Civil Aviation Authority exists to enable safe flight for social connections, and economic benefit for New Zealand. We believe in keeping people safe and secure in the air, enabling participation in the aviation system, and making a difference to New Zealand aviation. We achieve this through regulatory oversight of the aviation industry and frontline security at our airports.
The foundation for achieving this is our values, which guide how we work and the behaviours we expect from each other.
- Me mahi tahi - Collaboration We work together to achieve and succeed.
- Me mahi pono - Transparency We are open and honest communicators.
- Me mahi tika - Integrity We do the right thing.

We invest in our people by supporting development within the organisation. To support the health and wellbeing of our employees we offer flu vaccinations, contributions towards eyewear and a flexible working environment by arrangement.
We offer 5 weeks of annual leave and can match your Kiwi Saver contribution up to 4%.
CAA strongly encourages and supports all our people to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19.
