The Faculty of Science brings together 10 diverse schools and departments to provide outstanding quality teaching and research opportunities. **Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
This is a fantastic opportunity to leave your stamp and promote and celebrate teaching, research and specific faculty services and initiatives to current and potential students and other key audiences and stakeholders in line with the faculty strategic vision and the University’s strategic Communications and Marketing plan.
You will be responsible for the development and implementation of faculty marketing and recruitment plans through promotions, event management and internal and external communications.
This role has managerial responsibility and includes allocation of work and accountability for outputs and quality as well as performance reviews and development.

Qualification and Experience include:

- Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification
- Marketing or promotional experience
- Communications and content management experience
- Editing and web management experience.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience of people management processes, financial planning and management, including dealing with suppliers.
- Experience in a tertiary environment or large complex organisation.
- Copywriting and/or editorial skills.
We are looking for a confident, highly motivated person who can hit the ground running and lead the faculty’s marketing and recruitment strategies. Along with this, you will bring the following:

- A tertiary qualification in marketing, communications or similar
- At least 5 years of experience in a marketing or communications role
- Campaign management skills, with a focus on digital, working with multiple external and internal stakeholders
- Able to show innovation and strive for continuous improvement. This includes being perceptive to how processes could be improved, not afraid to question the status quo and implement change.
- Be a skilled people manager who is highly organised and proactive. You will be calm under pressure with the ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
- Be able to quickly build positive and effective relationships with multiple internal stakeholders and external agencies in a collaborative environment.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū | About the team**
This role oversees a team of 3 Content Writers and 2 Marketing Advisers and collaborates closely with external advertising and creative agencies. It also manages a Senior Marketing & Communications Adviser working within a Centre of Research Excellence (CoRE) hosted by the faculty and works closely with an Event Planner, a Science Media Adviser, and an external contracting Graphic Designer.
Our Content Writers and Coordinators are responsible for providing engaging, dynamic and authentic multimedia, print and digital content that effectively showcases the faculty’s teaching, research and departmental offerings and activities to multiple audiences. They produce a wide range of publications for the faculty and manage the Science web pages in the University's content management system.
Our Marketing Adviser and Coordinators are responsible for supporting marketing and recruitment objectives and building the reputation of the faculty through the design, development, and implementation of integrated campaigns. They also provide marketing advice and support to the Faculty’s schools and departments. Other responsibilities include social media management, campaign reporting, and financial administration.
Our Events Planner is responsible for planning, organising, and delivering core University and faculty events, such as inaugural and public lectures, webinars, Open Day and other recruitment events.
