**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

The Urology Service Administration team schedule and manage clinics for six services. Every day in Urology is different with administration staff assisting the SMO and Nursing team to manage/book outpatient clinics that will be held in this facility.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Providing great service and direction to customers, staff and whānau
- Professional timely service
- All aspects of administration task including typing a range of medical documents, both written and Dictaphone.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Answering department telephone on rostered days
- Support Front of House staff when required

**This role requires the following**:
**Essential**:

- Excellent customer service skills - people focused
- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- A team player - Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Excellent keyboard skills
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated perceptiveness and a proactive approach in an administrator role.

**Desired**:

- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field
- Knowledge of medical terminology (optional)
- Good English spelling and grammar
- Familiarity with the public hospital system (including the patient management system)
- Awareness of people of differing cultural backgrounds.
