**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity available to join our newly created Operations Planning team whose number one priority is to provide short term plan of opportunities on the network through a good understand on network performance and changes and collaboration with the Network Operations Planning Group.

This role will provide a vital link between future delivery of changes on the network relating to land use development and infrastructure projects and changes to network operations. This role will lead the development of operational and tactical resilience plans to direct operational teams to ensure that the network is fit for purpose and can operate effectively over the next 5 years.

You will be part of a small team but integrated across the wider Customer and Network Performance division with opportunity to work to develop a high performing team to support a wide range of projects and programmes.

You will:

- Lead the development, and delivery of short-term Network Operational plans.
- Provide advice on complex planning consents and projects for operational plans for interpretation of the Network Operating Plan, and network deficiency assessments.
- Plan operational resilience solutions for the network in response to AT's climate change response to keep the network moving.
- Represent AT with stakeholders and partners, support and present to Local Boards, elected members and stakeholders with network insights.
- Lead the team in the development and management of standards, frameworks, programmes, policies and initiative to deliver optimized network outcomes and support AT so successfully manage and meets its regulatory responsibilities.
- Support the development of funding cases and programmes to optimise the network.
- Provide quality advice to the business, stakeholders & partners for transport operations for major development areas and transport projects.

Ideally you will have:

- 9-10 years' planning experience in a large scale, complex transport environment, inclusive of 5 years' or more as an effective people leader.
- A relevant tertiary qualification related to Transport Planning, Engineering or related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a high performing team and influence others outside of direct reporting lines including senior leaders.
- Good understanding and appreciation of the workings and functions of local government, including current and future business drivers and statutory requirements.
- Excellent organisational and forward planning skills.
- Experienced in presenting to all levels within an organisation.
- Experience in a complex and dynamic operating environment, including the drive and resilience to lead proactively through ambiguity and change.
