Can you bring a Pacific worldview to the work we are doing to achieve better health outcomes for Pacific people in Aotearoa? We know many areas of the health system are not working well for Pacific people, aiga, ngutuare tangata, famili, kāinga, magafoa, kaiga, vuvale and kaaiga (families) and communities. In fact, Pacific health inequities are observed throughout the lifecourse, from pregnancy and early childhood through to older age.
In Pacific Health, we have a clear vision of a system that allows the strength of Pacific families and community voice to be at the heart of what we do, delivering equitable health outcomes for Pacific people and a future where Pacific families live longer, healthier lives.
The Pacific values of family, service, love, reciprocity and respect, along with Pacific culture and customs, influence the way we think and every action we take.
We have an opportunity for a **Manager, Workforce Pathway Development** within our Pacific Health Workforce team. The Manager Workforce Pathway Development will be responsible for the development of a work programme to deliver the workforce strategy as it relates to establishing the workforce pathway and aligns with the workforce needs identified by the Ola Manuia Pacific health priorities. This will be achieved by actively working with Pacific providers, workforce programme leads, tertiary education providers, clinical expertsand key stakeholders. You will also, manage the delivery of key activities and enablers for workforce development to support the Pacific workforce strategy and workplan, including budget, resources, risks and programme management.
**Mōu | About you**
This is an exciting opportunity for you to advance the Pacific workforce priorities to transform the workforce development approach to enable Pacific people to thrive across multiple settings through a whole-of-system view. You will have substantial, proven operational and management experience in the health sector in a complex environment, with a sound understanding of the challenges and inequities in Pacific Health. Your relationship management skills and ability to create and maintain partnerships and community networks that enable effective relationships across sectors and organisations particularly with Pacific Peoples, groups and/or community partners will be key. You will have a passion for improving health outcomes for Pacific people, and this will show in the quality of the work you lead and deliver.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Ability to draw on extensive operational and strategic experience preferably within a complex health environment
- Experience in managing programmes, demonstrating an ability to identify and develop operational opportunities, lead and implement transformational change initiatives, integration and continuous improvement.

**Ko te mahi e tika ana mō te ao hurihuri nei |Work that suits today's ever-changing world**
Te Whatu Ora supports flexible and hybrid working for our kaimahi. In roles that don't require an in-person element, we encourage you to ‘work from where you are.' We want our national teams to be made up of diverse people from across the motu, just like our health system.
**Nau mai, uru mai | Come and join us**
When you join us, you become part of transforming the health system. This is a once in a lifetime change that will touch the lives of everyone in Aotearoa, and future generations.
Our name, Te Whatu Ora, means ‘the weaving of wellness'. Whatu is the combining together of people, resources, organisations, thoughts and actions for the betterment and wellbeing of all. Whatu is also a direct reference to the pupil of the eye, and the vision required of the new entity and system.
We are working towards a system that better meets the complex demands of a growing population, addresses the persistent inequalities experienced by Mā
