We have one full-time permanent employee status role based in the Auckland CBD. In this role you will contribute to investigation cases by carrying out investigative work required for the detection and apprehension of offenders through the forensic examination of electronic evidence. You will identify, collect, and preserve digital evidence, and maintain and manage proper handling procedures regarding the protection, collection, and storage of physical and digital evidence. You will perform forensic computer and digital evidence analysis and report your findings and testify in court on an as needed basis. You will be part of a cohesive team that sees a case from inception to closure and you will mentor, coach, and train less experienced colleagues, increasing their capability and confidence.
This position is within the Forensic Services career path structure. Your demonstrated and required levels competency and desired behaviour will ultimately prepare you for career progression. The SFO offers the opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the most qualified and experienced electronic forensic specialists in the country, if not the world. We are a flexible by default organisation. When our work allows, we have opportunity to work remotely a couple of days each week, and we have flexible start and finish times. We offer an additional week of annual leave that covers the three usual workdays between Christmas and New Year plus two days to use at our discretion. Additionally, we receive 20 sick leave days each year, with no initial standdown period, and we can accumulate a sick leave balance to a maximum of 260 days.
