The NZGP1 proposal was approved by the Commerce Commission in February 2024. More information is available here: NZGP Latest updates | Transpower

**About the team**

Our Grid Delivery division is accountable for the delivery of all work across New Zealand's transmission network. This includes increasing project and maintenance work, delivered in conjunction with our service provider organisations.

- Site work at substations around New Zealand e.g. HVDC Link: Benmore to Haywards electricity cable | Engineering NZ
- Project technical support
- Equipment commissioning/operational acceptance

The grid of the future will move away from large rotating machines and use more power electronics as our generators move to inverter-based systems. You'll be involved in exciting future projects including:

- New Ōtāhuhu STATCOM - to be commissioned by mid-2025
- $50m of work planned for the HVDC Pole 2 half-life extension project - to be commissioned by mid-2026
