This is your opportunity to work in some of the most loved public parks and gardens in Christchurch. Join the team who support the visitors' experience of parks through site interpretation, signage, social media, on-line channels, visitor centres, publications and events.
**About the role**:
Reporting directly to the Visitor Experience Team Leader, the Visitor Experience Developer will be responsible for:
- Engaging in science and heritage communication by researching and developing written content for interpretation and exhibitions in parks and parks visitor centres.
- Developing regulatory, directional and safety signage.
- Creating captivating visitor programmes for parks including trails to elevate the park experience.
- Informing residents and visitors about activities, events and information pertaining to parks through online media and written publications.
**Our ideal applicant will**:
- Have exceptional written communication skills with the ability to transform complex information into simple language.
- The ability to develop a variety of content material for all park users including interpretation panels and exhibits, signage, and activities for children's trails.
- Proven project management experience in transforming initial ideas into a final product.
- Proven ability to work with a wide variety of people, from park rangers to graphic designers.
- Hold a relevant tertiary qualification such as in Parks and Recreation, Science Communication, Museum Studies or other relevant qualification (or substantial equivalent experience)
