Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The new national Supply Chain (SC) leadership team is being established within Te Whatu Ora. This leadership group will support the development and implementation of Te Whatu Ora's P&SC operating model which is Nationally-led, and Delivered Nationally, Regionally and Locally.
The primary purpose of the South Island Distribution Area Manager role is to lead the hospital distribution teams within the assigned area and ensure an end-to-end service is being delivered by closely working with the in hospital teams, teams across distribution optimisation, Inventory optimisation, purchasing and stakeholders. This work will require strong relationships with our clinical in hospital & community teams, to ensure distribution effectively supports our communities and is an enabler for equitable health care.

We are seeking a seasoned leader who will lead and manage multi-site distribution teams and ensure excellent local stakeholder management that will support growth and development, fosters innovation, and encourages continuous improvement. You will have the ability to co-create a transformational journey that people want to be part of and roll it out across a multisite network that will enhance a customer centric philosophy. You will be an interface to the other P&SC functions within the area and the greater Te Whatu Ora Organisation and create a seamless experience for our end users.

- Leadership and management of distribution teams across a multi-site operation.
- Proven experience in complex, preferably hospital supply chains
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams and an inclusive culture
- The ability to bring people on a transformation journey
- Proven experience in managing complex supply chains and/or warehousing and distribution networks. Including experience with ERP/WMS/TMS solutions.
- Strong understanding of logistics and operations from a variety of industries, systems and processes
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and strong decision-making skills
- Be a self-starter, action-driven, flexible in changing directions and methods, thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and provide immediate contribution to the P2P Team
