The NCSC has a newly created opportunity for an experienced leader who is capable of offering vision, practical guidance, and implementation in a dynamic and stimulating environment at the forefront of New Zealand's national security.

The Strategic Advice Lead identifies issues and opportunities that may impact the delivery of the NCSC strategic plan and works across the NCSC to provide timely advice on topics of significance.

In this stimulating role, you will lead a team of policy and advice specialists to enable the strategic and system-level performance of the GCSB's cyber security functions. Your team assists NCSC leaders in making complex decisions and takes a central role in all-of-NCSC work streams where input across the directorate is required.

As a leader, you'll be responsible for directing your team to execute their mission objectives and delivery outcomes for customers and stakeholders.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for a broad range of tasks that includes:

- Overseeing and approving briefings and advice to NCSC leaderships
- Overseeing NCSC reporting on strategic matters
- Co-ordinating inputs to GCSB reports and reviews and
- Working with the NCSC Executive and Senior Leadership Group to drive improvements and deliver outcomes

Your expertise and skills in the following areas will be fundamental to your success in the following areas will be fundamental to your success:

- Tertiary qualification in a relevant area such as public policy, social sciences, arts or law
- Demonstrated depth and breadth of leadership experience in a similar role within a complex medium-to-large organisation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to successfully engage with a diverse range of people at all levels within an organisation, internally and externally
