We are seeking a skilled bookkeeper to join our team and take responsibility for maintaining an efficient and accurate accounting function for our busy rest home in Auckland.

**Responsibilities**:

- Produce invoices, prepare journals, verify any refunds and report discrepancies to management
- Produce purchase orders, verify accuracy of various invoices and make the correct payments
- Verify bank statements and perform bank reconciliation
- Monitor cash flow
- Prepare varied monthly financial reports, such as cash flow reports, sales and expenditure reports, accounts receivable reports, accounts payable reports etc.
- Prepare GST returns and PAYE
- Coordinate with accountants and participate in the preparation of financial statements and the file the annual return to the IRD
- Ensure financial information and documents are maintained in accordance with the relevant regulations
- Ensure the financial documents are maintained in compliance with the tax regulations

Pay Rate: minimum $29.66 / hour - maximum $31.61 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week: minimum 30 hours

Requirements for the job:

- Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero system and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Willingness to take responsibility and develop a professional accounting career.
