**Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

Downer NZ holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. Downer provide enhanced and extended scope of works and implement new processes to ensure that all facilitates are well managed and maintained. We are currently seeking a Plumbing Team Leader to join our team at the Department of Corrections and MOJ in Auckland

**A bit about the role**

This is a hands-on role and will be carrying out general plumbing and maintenance activities while providing leadership and guidance to the Facilities technical delivery team. Some duties include but not limited to.
- Provide direction and leadership to the Facilities Technicians, Trade Assistants, Apprentices, including sub-contractor management.
- Assisting in the generation of specifications, engineering, designing, scoping, costing, and quoting of solutions as requested.
- Ensuring your assigned works is coordinated and undertaken in an efficient, compliant manner.
- Supporting with solid technical solutions, primarily with plumbing, gas systems and drainage, including air-conditioning, mechanical and facilities assets.

We're looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile You are motivated and ready for the opportunity to take on maintenance work to achieve a high standard performance. You will also bring with you:

- Current certified plumber registration NZ (PGDB).
- At least five years’ post qualification experience within the plumbing, gas fitting, drainage, facilities and building maintenance industries.
- Proven team leadership skills in a trade-based environment.
- Physically fit and the ability to perform manual labour tasks.
- Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines, plan, and prioritise.
