**Job Description** Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader in our Property Services Division’s Security Services Team. This is a unique position where you will be working in a fast paced, complex and varied environment.

Reporting to the Safety & Security Manager, you will oversee the shift and a team of 6 Security Officers on a rotating roster.

Leadership, teamwork, mentoring, customer focus and negotiation skills are vital to the role. Through your leadership and guidance, your team will be a cohesive and effective unit providing a safe and secure environment for staff, students and visitors whilst protecting the University's assets with a prevention focus.

Services include response to crimes and incidents, the provision of foot patrols, locking and unlock services, alarm response daily egress checks, reporting of maintenance faults, event support, escorts, carpark enforcement and response to infrastructure/services failures.

This is a **full-time** (40 hours per week), **permanent** opportunity on a five-week 24/7 rotating roster.

**Qualifications** He kōrero mōu | About you**
- Integral to your success you will have:_
- 2 - 3+ years’ experience as a Security Officer
- Previous experience in leading a team to deliver a unified service
- Hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA), Level 3 certification for Security (NZQA recognised) and working toward Level 4
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven experience in access control, keying and with CCTV security systems
- A good standard of physical fitness
- A current New Zealand Driver's License - Class 1
