With expertise and courses spanning pure mathematics, applied mathematics and mathematics education, the department also runs a suite of large service courses addressing the needs of more than 2,000 students per year from other faculties and departments.

**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are currently looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow on a full time fixed term contract to join our Mathematics department to conduct research on a 1-year project to investigate coupled nonlinear oscillating optical systems near the quantum limit.

This is a **fulltime **(40 hours per week), 12 month fixed term position.
Remuneration: PD1**:$87,772**

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- PhD in Physics or Applied Mathematics
- experience in modeling nonlinear photonic systems
- experience in bifurcation theory and analysis
- experience with numerical continuation tools
- demonstrated ability to present research results at international conference and as journal publications
