The Exporter Regulatory Advice Service (ERAS) is committed to supporting New Zealand exporters by making it easier to understand MPI's requirements to export. It is an innovative team, drawing on principles of agile methodology and service design, to balance providing advice directly to export businesses with service improvements to address identified ‘pain points'.
This is an exciting time for ERAS as there is an opportunity to redefine the future of the team for the coming years, so this will be a focus of the group during this time.

About the Role | Kōrero mō te tūranga
As the Senior Adviser, you will be responsible for providing New Zealand (mainly small and medium sized) exporters with a dedicated level of service and support. The focus is on providing tailored advice and reducing time and effort spent by exporters in navigating complex regulatory requirements.
You will support the needs of exporters using the principles of service design and a strong customer-centric focus to develop and implement proactive tools and resources that are clear and easy to understand, and address identified pain points. With this, you will use data tools to capture and analyse trends, patterns, themes, issues and non-tariff barriers to trade. This will inform prioritisation of proactive work and service delivery improvements and will recommend ways to develop these tools to enhance user experience.
As a Senior Adviser you will take the lead on specific projects and provide support to both the manager and Advisers as and when needed. You will maintain strong relationships within MPI and industry and will be regarded as a trusted Senior Adviser across the business.

**Salary band**: $77,652 to $108,321 depending on skills and experience

**Ideally you will have**:

- A strong track record of leading projects and delivering results, including planning and organising work, managing execution, and reporting progress.
- This includes undertaking complex tasks and resolving complex issues.
- You may have some great technical skills that would transfer to this customer facing role.
- Experience working to ‘clients' - including identifying and satisfy their needs,and managing their expectations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of people, including demonstrated success working across business groups in a collaborative manner using effective influencing skills.
- Excellent communication and listening skills - be able to understand technical issues and translate into simple, easily communicated information
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills and systems thinking ability, and able to deal comfortably with ambiguity and complexity
- Have experience making tough decisions and balance technical and non-technical issues, when decision making is delegated.
