We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced security specialist to join our Organisational Performance leadership team and enhance the Commissions security management. This is a permanent position based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.
Mō te tūranga | About the role
Reporting directly to the General Manager Organisation Performance (Chief Security Officer), you will provide strategic support and advice to the whole organisation on all aspects of protective security. Your challenge will be enabling the business to balance the security and safety risks of our people while ensuring we still achieve our core purpose. As our organisation grows so do our risks, therefore you will need to focus on building a strong security culture across the organisation.
You will work with the organisation to continually enhance our security programme. This includes the delivery of our Protective Security Framework in line with the Protective Security Requirements (PSR), the development and embedding of policies and standards, and providing timely, practical and fit for purpose security advice to all. We have good levels of security maturity and are looking for someone to take us to the next level.

Along with the ability to build strong relationships you will be a pragmatic self-starter who can work autonomously and is business focused.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing physical security and safety, as well as personnel and information security in a diverse environment
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the government's Protective Security Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification or related experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to articulate complex messages clearly, simply and concisely
- Ability to think logically and strategically
- Government experience is advantageous but not essential.
