Mō te tūnga | About the role

The Sustainability Services Group has a vacancy for a Lead Analyst based at Police National Headquarters. Sustainability needs to be woven through all that we do, both as an organisation and to proactively encourage and support our stakeholders to consider sustainability also. You’ll help achieve this by delivering or enabling others to deliver the technical data requirements underpinning the sustainability strategy, roadmap, and emission reduction targets.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Follow good practice and standards on data analysis and visualisation
- Ensure effective channels of communication with colleagues and clients.
- Identify sustainability trends that impact NZ Police’s current and future strategy
- Provide an evidence-based approach to Sustainability initiatives across Police
- Perform data modelling to evaluate sustainability initiatives
- Work collaboratively with other members of the team to achieve team goals.
- Support management/leadership with sustainable development within Police
- Champion and help embed our sustainability approach, strategically and operationally

Previous experience in the public sector would be advantageous.

In respects to the technical side of things
- Relevant tertiary qualifications would be great; however, we recognise life learning also.
- Proven experience working with complex and diverse datasets to yield actionable data insights is necessary.
- Have expert MS Excel; and familiarity with Power Query desirable; ability to quickly learn new technologies a necessity.
- Proficiency with M365 (Word; PowerPoint; Outlook; Teams etc)
- A demonstrable interest in Sustainability and/or environmental sciences is required.
- A desire to be part a key driver in the team enabling decarbonisation, sustainability and better futures for NZ Police.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Great communication and interpersonal skills

Utu ā-tau | Salary

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,178 and $119,074 dependant on skills and experience relevant to the role.
