Lead Intelligence Analyst - Strategic Insights Team, it starts with you Based at Police National Headquarters, Wellington Band J Office of Constable / Police Employee Permanent, Full time JRMō te tūnga | About the role The Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) based at Police National Headquarters is seeking a Lead Intelligence Analyst to be part of the Strategic Insights Team.

The FIU is part of the Financial Crime Group which also includes the Money Laundering Team and Asset Recovery Units in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, and Christchurch.

The strategic insights team comprises of intelligence and research staff and provides strategic products to Police, other government agencies, and the private sector based on research and analysis.

Our work is generally based on financial reporting from the private sector under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009.

As the Lead Intelligence Analyst you will mentor other members of the team to ensure they are making the best contribution they can to Our Business.

You will also lead a group of analysts and researchers, contributing to the development of the National Risk Assessment (NRA), a key component to building an effective national response to money laundering and terrorism financing.

The NRA is a cornerstone of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) risk-based approach concept.
In time you will become an expert in money laundering and the financial component of any acquisitive crime.

A financial background is not necessary, but you must have good analytical experience, proven mentoring skills and work well in a team environment.

Utu ā-tau | Salary This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $102,178 and $119,074 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
