The Liggins Institute is one of the world’s leading centres for research on foetal and child health, nutrition, development, epigenetics, and evolutionary medicine. Established in 2001, Liggins is one of the University of Auckland’s two large scale research institutes (LSRIs). Our aim is to rapidly translate discoveries in basic science into therapies and strategies that will prevent or help people manage major health problems of the 21st century. We have shown that many common diseases of middle and old age have their origins very early in life - often before conception.

**Job Description**:
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We have an exciting opportunity for an **Institute Operations Coordinator **to join our team within the Liggins Institute on a **full-time, permanent basis**. You will be responsible providing a high level of administration support to Liggins research staff and students, including liaison with HR, FIRST team, Connect, finance, and assisting the staff to navigate the University policies, guidelines and processes.

Key responsibilities of this role include:

- Line management of Institute Operations Administrator, including oversight of day-to-day activities and the provision of guidance and instruction.
- Provision of administrative support to the Institute Operations Manager, including the organisation of meetings, document production, administration diary management, an maintaining up-to-date knowledge of applicable policies and procedures.
- Liaising with Talent & Recruitment and undertaking staff processes related to non-advertised and advertised recruitment.
- Coordination and oversight of space allocation activities in relation to onboarding/offboarding for staff and postgraduate students.
- Working collaboratively with the Communications and Marketing Advisor to update and maintain the Liggins’ intranet page.

This is a **full-time **(37.5 hours per week), **permanent** position.
The remuneration is $66,600 - $82,200 dependent on skills and experience.

**Qualifications**:
**He kōrero mōu | About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- 5 years’ experience in an administrative role
- At least 2 years of experience in a coordinator role
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- Strong computer literacy with the Microsoft suite of programmes
- Excellent customer service skills
- High level of interpersonal skills
