We are seeking a **Research Assistant** to join the team at the Liggins Institute to support with the _Parental Diet in Rats study_.

You will be responsible for assisting the research team to ensure the effective implementation of the study protocol which will include assisting with:

- Preparation of equipment required for gathering samples, and maintenance of stock levels.
- Preparation and updating of paperwork for recording information throughout the study.
- Planning of study timelines and resources in collaboration with the study investigators.
- Animal care and record keeping.
- Conduction of assessments including metabolic caging, measurement of blood pressure, conducting glucose tolerance tests, assessment of body composition (DXA).

This is a **fixed term **(up to 12 months), **full-time **(37.5 hours per week) opportunity.
The remuneration is $58,300 - $72,700 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A Bachelor’s degree in science or health.
- Experience in animal research with small animals, ideally rats or mice.
- Understanding of animal trial operations including responsibilities as relates to ethical conduct.
- Proven track record of achieving targets and deliverables.
- Problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated competency using IT systems.
