Our Auckland Housing Processing Hub provides essential support services to our frontline staff and clients. As a Processing Officer, you'll be assessing and processing client information to determine their eligibility for housing assistance.
Working closely with Housing Case Managers, clients, and key stakeholders such as Kainga Ora, Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, and community-based housing providers, you'll utilise your numerical expertise and logical thinking to analyse, calculate, and process Income Related Rents. You will also play a crucial part in identifying and processing refunds or overpayments.
Your excellent communication skills will be essential as you reach out to clients, gathering the necessary information we need and provide them with the support they need. By assisting eligible clients, you'll contribute to their successful transition into sustainable and suitable housing.
In addition to your processing responsibilities, you will engage in client service through outbound phone calls. Your excellent conversational skills will enable you to complete outbound calls and can talk to MSD clients and non-MSD clients. This includes keeping clients informed about outcomes and available entitlements, ensuring they have the information necessary to make informed decisions regarding their housing.

- You possess strong numeracy, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills, along with a compassionate and empathetic demeanour when speaking to clients over the phone.
- You're a fast learner who enjoys handling complex information.
- You are a professional and energetic individual with exceptional skills in interacting and negotiating with clients over the phone. Your focus is always on meeting their needs, and your ability to lead conversations with empathy and sensitivity ensures a positive client experience.

Hours of work
Ellerslie based office role.
- You'll work 37.55 hours, 5 days per week across rostered shifts with varying start times between the hours of 6.55am and 10.00pm Monday to Friday and between 7.55am and 6.00pm on Saturdays. Typically, we don't work on Saturdays. Saturdays are only rostered for overtime as and when required.
- This is an Ellerslie office-based role where you are trained and supported on several specialty areas so it can take several months before we can start considering flexible working arrangements.
