**Social Worker Emergency Department - Te Whatu Ora Lakes**
**Pilot Project 6 months fixed term**
**Full time, 40 hours per week (may include some rostered weekend shifts)**

Te Whatu Ora Lakes are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced health social worker to join their fantastic multi-disciplinary team within the Emergency Department (ED). This role will support a 6-month pilot project looking at the establishment of an enhanced social work presence in Rotorua Hospital’s ED to provide responsive and holistic care to our patients. As part of this new initiative, you will have the opportunity to contribute to process design and improvement, and to gather evidence of inform the impact of the role in this care environment.

You will be supported by the Service Manager Clinical Support Services / Director of Allied Health, Head of Department of the Emergency Department and, professionally, via our Professional Leader Social Worker and wider team of Social Workers.
- Previous experience of delivering social work care in hospital setting
- the ability to work within a fast paced and busy multi-disciplinary environment
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- the ability to be flexible and be a change leader
- a passion for working with a wide variety of people with presenting reasons, and a desire to help people maximize their wellbeing.
- have a deep commitment to address equity issues within our community

This position will require you to a have NZ Social Work Registration, ANZASW membership and current ACP.
