**Job Title**: Contracts Manager

**Location**: Wellington, NZ

**Pay Rate**: $80-95k base + super + vehicle

An opportunity has arisen within a successful New Zealand Civil Engineering Company operating on Infrastructure Projects within Wellington, New Zealand. They are looking for a Contracts Manager to join their Planned Maintenance Department, which will include working on small to medium sized Capital Expenditure Projects.

**Company**
The well-established company provides a range of Civil Engineering construction services throughout the New Zealand market, with this position being part of the live maintenance contract. Over the last few years, they have capitalized on the booming Civil Engineering & Construction market and have seen significant growth across their business which has driven the need for developing this position.

**Main Duties**
As the Contracts Manager you would be responsible for;
- Report and provide support to the Department Manager
- Meeting with clients, scoping of forwarding works, measuring works completed, putting in payment claims.
- Manage the works H&S, and Quality and input all completed works into the Asset Management System
- Manage a team of 2 - 3 supervisors and have ultimate responsibility for a further 12-15 crew members
- Manage an annual budget of up to $10m.
- Maintain registers of variations and claims, delays, instructions, etc.
- Have a good understanding of the terms of Head Contract and how it relates to the work.
- Manage Procurement activities, including defining the scope of works, negotiating contracts, administering live accounts, through to closing out final accounts
- Contract analysis, review, and management of mainly sub-contractors work

**Requirements**:

- A degree in civil engineering or related field preferable, with 5 + years post graduate experience ideally with roading construction or maintenance experience
- A proven history working with an established civil engineering contractor
- Knowledge around NZ standard contracts would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Previous demonstrated experience in managing an established team to get the desired outcome required.
