Health and Safety Advisor

Seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team in Hamilton, your main duties will include the following:

- Collaborate in the formulation of an annual Health & Safety Strategy plan.
- Encourage a safety-oriented culture across all sites and offices, emphasising culture over compliance.
- Aid in the development of procedures and policies to support the achievement of our strategic goals.
- Investigate incidents involving severe harm or lost time injuries, and promptly inform the relevant Government authorities.
- Ensure the documentation of 'near misses' and workplace accidents, both on-site and in office settings.
- Guarantee the effective implementation and documentation of all health and safety measures at each site.
- Conduct on-site Health & Safety inductions and perform regular audits.
- Actively identify hazards and unsafe behaviours when on-site.
- Participate in the Group's Health & Safety programs and initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to New Zealand employment legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act, and other applicable laws.
- Work closely with on-site staff to ensure compliance with SignOnSite and ACUITE, conducting monthly formal workplace audits and ensuring the audit reports.
- Uphold compliance with all regulatory obligations.
- Oversee employee training for regulatory and safety compliance.
- Maintain an up-to-date record of employee training.
- Demonstrate a professional image and demeanour.
- Support and exemplify the company's culture.
- Maintain regular communication with colleagues.
- Keep clients informed and proactively collaborate with them.
- Promote the company as a reputable construction firm committed to quality.
- Consider the impact of actions on client relationships.
- Represent the company at industry events.
- Redirect media enquiries to the CEO.
- Assist the Sustainability Manager in upholding environmental standards.
