Assistant Auditor-general, Strategy and

Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Shape the strategy of an organisation with a unique view of the public sector.
- Lead a high-performing team at a senior level.
- Help drive better outcomes for New Zealanders.

The Office of the Auditor-General | Te Mana Arotake (the Office) supports our democratic way of life by providing Parliament and New Zealanders with independent assurance that public organisations are operating as Parliament intends.
In a fast-changing world, the Office is looking to increase its influence and impact on how the public service delivers better outcomes for New Zealanders. The Assistant Auditor-General, Strategy and Communications role is designed to support the Office to drive its strategy forward. The role also leads continuous improvement of the Office's planning, programme management, and governance systems.
This is a key leadership position in an organisation that engages at the highest levels of central and local government. This role, which is also responsible for the communications function, is critical to positioning the Office.
As the Strategy and Communications Team is still relatively new, the Office is looking for an experienced and confident leader who can shape the role and position the Team to influence and support the wider Office.
Significant experience in policy or strategy and planning is essential, as is substantive communications experience. The ability to work collaboratively within the Office and align to the Office's values will also be critical to success in this role.

**We offer our staff**:

- Learning and development opportunities.
- Flexible working.
- Health and well-being benefits.
- A unique operating environment with Parliament.

As an organisation, people matter to us, our independence is critical, we act with integrity and courage, and we're here to make a difference.

Applications close Sunday 28 May 2023.
