About the role

As an Intelligence Supervisor, within the National Road Policing Centre, you will lead a high performing team made up of Intelligence, Insights, and Performance Analysts. The team is responsible for delivering robust and insightful products across a range of analytical areas that contribute to reducing death and serious injury on New Zealand roads. The products are used to inform deployment and underpin advice provided to police districts and other stakeholders relating to effective strategic interventions in road safety.

The role will encompass academic skill, thought and people leadership and relationship management in the context of Intelligence and Insights. The position would suit an experienced intelligence/analytics professional wanting to work in a dynamic environment to support decision-makers across tactical, operational and strategic levels. You will have a passion for effective team management, staff welfare, and leading in a dynamic and exciting intelligence field.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Leadership of our organisational priorities and the strategy as captured in Our Business and enablement of our people to deliver on it.
- Create and continually develop a high-performance environment that encourages innovation, collaboration, flexibility, unity, customer focus, partnerships and Mäori Responsiveness.
- Skilled communication and collaboration with a wide range of internal and external partners including police districts, other government agencies, and non-government partner agencies
- Provide expert technical advice to staff; within the National Road Policing Centre, across Police districts and the wider community to enhance insights and intelligence capability.
- Set and maintain quality standards for released products, build trust and confidence with clients, and influence decision makers effectively
- Extensive analytical expertise would be beneficial across performance, insights and/or intelligence.

- Strong technical expertise and experience in the delivery of high-quality intelligence products to inform frontline deployment tactics and strategies supported by performance data, insights and intelligence analytical techniques
- Strong relationship management skills including the ability to engage and maintain relationships with stakeholders enhancing information sharing and collaboration and exemplifying our core value of commitment to Māori and the Treaty
- Experience with supporting a team in high pressure environments whilst delivering high quality outputs
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills, especially in leading a team through transformative change and uncertainty and building a cohesive and highly collaborative teamwork environment

- Successful applicant must reside in Wellington
