Te Ratonga Hauora (Health Services) is responsible for the Department's overall focus on oranga, inclusive of general health, mental health, addictions, and disability. Our priority is to provide services that support the advancement of health equity for Māori, and most importantly Pae Ora. We do this through our strategies, policies and practices. Hōkai Rangi, our over-arching strategic direction, places the focus on oranga at the heart of our business. Building our frameworks from a Mātauranga Māori basis is our focus to drive and support equity for Māori, which in turn will contribute to achieving our outcomes of reducing reoffending.

We are advancing our commitment to transformational change across our health services, and we are excited to announce that we are recruiting for a permanent Senior Adviser role reporting through to the Transformation Change Director.

**The role accountabilities will include**:

- Provides strategic advice and guidance to the Deputy Chief Executive Health and Transformation Change Director
- Strategic and operational policy development, and testing future state design (i.e. through Te Matatiki o te Oranga, Hikitia) against existing policy and legislative frameworks to identify barriers/opportunities
- Leads or undertakes projects, obtains information, fact finds or completes general investigative work on any matter (as directed).
- Co-ordinates, analyses, researches and generates responses, advice and/or recommendations on reports and papers received by the Deputy Chief Executive Health and Transformation Change Director
- Ensures that identified learning opportunities are taken and embedded into organisational practice through collaborative work with senior stakeholders

He kōrero mōu | About you
We're calling out to those who are passionate about achieving health equity for Māori and who feel a strong alignment to our kaupapa. You will also have strong advisory experience, and will take a relationship driven approach to your craft.
- Strong knowledge of and experience in operational/strategic policy, and a good understanding of legislative frameworks
- Experience working in an environment that considers organisational change, and how that will be implemented.
- Can operate effectively in a Māori cultural setting and has an understanding and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Awareness of Justice sector trends and the cultural, political and social environment of Corrections service delivery.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the wider public sector is essential to this role.

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range is $108,180 and the full range (85%-120%) is $91,953 to $129,816. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
