We now have a fantastic opportunity to appoint a new **Director of Auckland Online**.
**Job Description**:
**The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi**
As the Director, you will be responsible for motivating, coaching and retaining a highly productive team that co-creates successful online programmes & courses with our leading academics and that also delivers high quality digital marketing and customer acquisition activities. The Director leverages a deep knowledge of both the online postgraduate market and the University’s own capabilities to design and negotiate a relevant portfolio of current and future programmes.
Some key responsibilities include:
- ** Strategy and Planning - **Lead the development and execution of the University’s strategy for online programmes, ensuring academic excellence and market relevance that is aligned with the University mission and achieves the aspirations outlined in _Taumata Teitei_.
- ** Relationship Management - **Build** **strong relationships with academic leaders to agree the composition of the online portfolio both current and future in addition to external stakeholders and professional associations and other organisations that fund students to take our online courses.
- ** Course Development - **Lead the process of agreeing which new courses will be prioritised and developed, taking into account the project market demand and available resources. Also assess and implement innovative techniques and tools for the creation and delivery of online content.
- ** Marketing Activities - **Support the growth of revenue from online delivery of programmes and courses and assess ROI and engagement for marketing effectiveness.
- ** Operational Leadership - **This includes financial oversight and ensuring department operations are adequately resourced to meet the needs of the unit. It also includes day to day management of the digital marketing and programme advisor teams and also ensuring they operate in a safe and equitable environment.

As a proven leader in large and complex environments, they will need to demonstrate relationship management strengths, with clear evidence of your ability to build successful business partnerships and drive strategic direction and effective service cultures.
This is a senior leadership position working within a collegial and effective executive team and a unique role that requires strong skills in influencing and driving collaboration. High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role. In addition, the successful applicants will possess strong analytical ability coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style and robust business and technology acumen.
