Principal Portfolio Adviser, Enterprise Portfolio Management Office
- Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver robust advice through leading and advising portfolio investment decisions.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to build specialised skills aligned with MFATs Strategic framework.

Be part of the Enterprise Connections Division and provide enterprise-level advice and guidance to the Ministry on Investment, Change, Business Improvement, and global NZ Inc. connections to ensure a strategic alignment with Ministry’s goals.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The EPMO is a relatively new function, and we are looking for an experienced practitioner to be part of embedding our transformation roadmap.

As the Principal Portfolio Adviser EPMO, you will provide thought leadership, technical expertise and advice to strategies, work programmes and governance committees on investment decisions and achievement of outcomes for the Ministry.

**Accountabilities will include**:

- Advising the ministry on Portfolio related practices including investment planning, performance reporting, prioritisation, benefits management, and building of project, programme, and portfolio capability.
- Working with Senior Responsible Owners, Business Owners, Project/Programme Practitioners, and other key stakeholders to utilise the Ministry’s Delivery Framework, ensuring a common approach is adopted and tailored where necessary.
- Provide decision and governance support, advising on the use of appropriate methodologies and tools.
- Review and endorse key project/programme artefacts.
- Using the Ministry’s Capability and Leadership Frameworks, identify and participate in opportunities for learning and development, including through regular coaching and mentoring.

The salary range for this role is between $124,674 and $146,675 total remuneration, negotiable depending on skills and experience.
The total remuneration is inclusive of our 3% employer contribution.

Ideally you will have a good understanding of tikanga Māori, with the ability to weave te ao Māori into your work. If you are just starting on this journey that’s ok too - as long as you have a willingness to learn and a desire to develop your cultural capability.
