- Two permanent positions Tēnei tūranga - About the Role: The Early Resolution Facilitator is a member of MBIE’s Early Resolution team within Dispute Resolution in the Employment Services Branch. The team’s work is aimed at the prevention and early resolution of employment disputes. Early Resolution Facilitators provide early assistance to employees and employers to resolve workplace issues early, quickly, and informally before they escalate. The role recognises that problems are better resolved promptly by those directly involved.

- A strong interest in and/or study towards developing a career in employment relations, mediation or dispute resolution
- Experience in employment relations, labour standards, dispute resolution, facilitation and/or negotiation would be an advantage
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with people from different backgrounds and ethnicities
- Ability to act impartially
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to make effective and sound decisions
- Flexibility in approach to problem solving
- Ability to be a professional influence in challenging situations
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
- Strong team player with ability to work collaboratively
- Highly learning, agile and with strong ability to contribute to and support a team learning culture
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your workload
- Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
