We have an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker to join the team based in Whangarei on a permanent, full time basis. You will be working at Te Puawai Ora, Community Maternity Service in Commerce Street 3 days per week, and in the Child Health Service, Whangarei Hospital 2 days per week. The hours of work will be between 8am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.

**Tasks include**:

- Effectively utilise social work processes to ensure quality care is provided
- Maintain professional standards and take part in responsibility for ongoing professional development
- Arrange referrals to alternative services as appropriate
- Provide facilitation and mediation skills for meetings and conflict resolution
- Being an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team process that focuses on meeting quality outcomes for clients
- Liaise with external agencies (I.e. Work and Income, Oranga Tamariki)

**Key Requirements**:

- Current registration with NZ Social Workers Registration Board
- Current full Drivers Licence
- Experience working with individuals and families with diverse needs
- Relevant social work experience that can be translated into an acute health setting

To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate experience in social work processes, theories and concepts. You will have the ability to maintain professional standards and competence.
