Our focus is to design and deliver an integrated transport system for all New Zealanders. The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi We are looking for an Advisor or Senior Advisor, Local Government Partnerships based in our South Island team. This is a role where you will provide clear and consistent advice at all stages of the Waka Kotahi Business Case Approach, supporting local government orking with our Local Government Partners. You'll provide them with support and investment advice on programmes of work that will positively impact how our communities live and move about in the community. And you'll be the conduit between Waka Kotahi technical SMEs, to enable our partners effectively plan and deliver innovative and future-focused integrated transport solutions. About you | Ko koe tēnei You will understand the importance of building and maintaining relationships and will be able to clearly articulate investments that are value for money for local communities, as well as aligning to Waka Kotahi's strategic objectives. As an emergent or experienced and trusted advisor this role will suit your emerging advisory or experienced advisory skills which will see you working confidently and collaboratively with diverse and varied stakeholders. To succeed in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

- An understanding of financial and business case processes
- Knowledge of evaluation process of sector activities in government organisations'to achieve value for money
- An understanding of local authority planning for transportation and investment decision making processes
- Work within a national context
- Experience establishing and nurturing key stakeholder relationship

You will show knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of, Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of, te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
