A key part of this role will be commencing an investigation file by starting the process of gathering evidence from the NAIT data base and other locations. You will often work in collaboration with your NAIT Officer colleagues.
- You should be comfortable in the role of an enforcement officer. Decisions you make will result in substantial fines being issued to farmers and you may be required to give evidence in court
- Evidence gathered could be from a number of different data bases so you should be computer literate and look beyond the obvious.
- We have peer review process for all work. You will be expected to constructively take part in this process.
- You will be communicating with farmers. This provides a good opportunity to deliver education and influence people to comply with their NAIT obligations.
- You will often need to work in collaboration with your NAIT Officer colleagues.

The purpose of the NAIT Act 2012 is to establish an animal identification and tracking system that provides for the rapid and accurate tracing of individual, or groups of, NAIT animals from birth to death or live export.
