**The role**:
An exciting opportunity awaits in our client's global R&D team for a Head of Development Engineering - Southern Hemisphere. The role of the Head of Development is to collaborate with the CTO and lead regional development engineering teams in the Southern Hemisphere. We are seeking a people-oriented technology leader with a strong background in managing the software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to production.

Your responsibilities will include coaching teams, overseeing progress, and gaining a clear understanding of the business' broader objectives to ensure top-notch software releases. Your inspirational leadership will be instrumental in motivating the Core R&D group to achieve their best.

**The details**:
Reporting directly to the CTO, you will take charge of identifying and implementing change programs related to systems and process improvements in partnership with the team. This is a hands-on role, and your team player attitude and technical expertise will be key to your success.

In this role, you will:

- Foster a culture and atmosphere that empowers team members to excel and take pride in their work.
- Bring extensive experience in delivering complex programs and projects at the research-commercial interface.
- Demonstrate excellent financial and operational management skills, continuously striving for improvement, value for money, performance, and innovation.
- Showcase expertise in delivering mission-critical enterprise solutions.
- Optimize platform creation, review, and adjustment to reduce project cycle times and development costs.
- Enhance development processes and methodologies to uphold world-class standards for hardware and firmware development.
- Enable and empower your teams to deliver exceptional work at a high pace.
- Facilitate the creation of high-quality software releases by leveraging engineering talent.
- Lead the recruitment and leadership of technical talent, fostering the creation of strong, winning teams.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with engineering managers, architects, technical leads, and software developers, ensuring alignment with the company's technical vision.
- Collaborate with various functions to drive engineering initiatives and make a significant impact on the organization.
- Set clear expectations and goals, measuring the impact of your team's performance.
- Manage teams' and individuals' performance, providing coaching for career growth, and cultivating a healthy team environment.

To be successful in this role, you should have multiple years of experience in a Development Delivery role, driving change and learning through multiple release cycles in agile and complex environments.

Additionally, experience in at least one of the following areas is advantageous:

- Salesforce Industries software
- Enterprise App solutions deployed in a SAAS environment
- Experience in the Utilities industry
