**What will you do?**

This is an exciting opportunity to oversee external communications as well as government, corporate, community and stakeholder relations for Ryman New Zealand.

This role includes leading a communications team, strategic media engagement as well as developing and implementing our communications strategy. Ensuring internal, external and digital communications across the business are fit for purpose and aligned with that strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

- Overseeing strategic communications, including leading and managing the communications team
- Managing media relationships, performing the role of company spokesperson and responding to media enquiries
- Developing and executing a New Zealand media, communications and engagement strategy
- Providing leadership that develops a high-performance culture in the team that delivers results and drives innovation
- Leading projects and programmes designed to lift overall Group or regional communications as agreed with the Head of Marketing - New Zealand
- Establishing and growing Ryman New Zealand's relationships with local and central government, other relevant agencies, member-based organisations, iwi and community groups in support of the business' strategic objectives

**Who are you?**
- You have proven experience working in a similar role within a large complex organisation
- You will have a proven track record of managing communications across a broad spectrum of disciplines. This includes internal and external communications, digital media, stakeholder engagement, government and media relations
- Proven experience leading teams, with the ability to think strategically and influence multiple stakeholders
- You enjoy thinking on your feet and working in a fast-paced environment
- Your positive attitude and optimism, are matched by your strong work ethic and desire to succeed
