**About the Role**
As a Data Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of Data Services for our clients.
Success will be achieved by providing technical leadership, client support, and driving continuous improvement to deliver exceptional services and client satisfaction.
Your expertise, team skills, and dedication to proactive monitoring and maintenance will enable you to address technical challenges effectively and build strong relationships with clients.
**Tasks**
You will be expected to conduct the following:
- Peer reviews, sharing knowledge, experience and expertise with team members.
- Design and development of enhancements to client modern data platforms using best practice methodologies.
- Monitoring and alerting to proactively manage data platforms.
- Provide recommendations on optimising the solution.
- Run support meetings for clients on a regular basis to describe the stability of their environment and suggested improvements.
- Process and co-ordinate timely responses to incident.
- Support for between 2 and 4 clients.
- Management of Incidents, Problems, Changes, Release and Service Levels.
- Responding to common support requests by providing information to enable resolution or escalation where appropriate.
- Working on a roster that may include some weekend activities (on-call - this is spread across the team).
**Experience**:
Over your 7+ years of hands-on experience you are skilled in:
- ETL using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, DBT, Matillion, etc.
- Report development using cloud-based tools such as SSRS, Power BI, Tableau or QLIK.
- Databases such as SQL Server, Snowflake, Oracle
- A cloud platform such as AWS, Azure or GPC.
The following are highly advantageous:
- Data base skills in backups, recovery, indexing, updating statistics, etc.
- UNIX.
- Dimensional Data modelling.
- Data lakes.
- Management of small teams.
