Our client is the world’s best brands in the industrial and motors sectors. We are looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to support the HR and payroll function for their office based either in Auckland or in Christchurch. This is a fixed term contract for 6 months with the potential to become permanent.

**About the role**:
This role will be responsible for processing and recording of the centralised Payroll function to ensure that all employees are paid correctly (in line with their employment agreements and the relevant legislation) and in a timely manner and that all payments are correctly accounted for and reported on to the relevant stakeholders.
To support the HR Operations Teams spread across administration of human resources policies and processes, compilation and generation of reports, training administration support and information recording.
- Responsible for collation, processing, accounting, and payment of remuneration (wages, salaries, commission, bonuses, Kiwi Saver).
- Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and accurately including all returns as required by IRD, and other government departments.
- Ensuring fortnightly and monthly reporting and reconciliation, as required.
- Collecting, calculating, and entering data to maintain and update payroll information.
- Compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and reporting.
- In charge of updating polies and procedures to reflect new initiatives, business issues and legislative changes.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Resolving payroll discrepancies.
**About you**:
You will be responsible for payroll processing, solving problems consistent with a sound interpretation of company policies, legislations and common law. The role reports to the Payroll manager.
- Experience with end-to-end processing of New Zealand payroll.
- Strong mathematical skills with an ability to spot numerical errors.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly pick up new systems and procedures.
- Intermediate to advanced skill with MS Word and Excel (Excel formulas and V look-up is essential), PayGlobal.
- Project management is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of country employment law requirements in relation to payroll.
- Tertiary qualifications in this discipline or similar.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Timely response and resolution of employee/stakeholder queries.
