This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for a highly motivated person to join our dedicated international team. Reporting to the International Student Services Manager you will work within a multifaceted team providing a range of exceptional pastoral care, support and event planning services.

This interesting and varied role has a strong focus on providing quality support throughout the student journey to ensure a first-class student experience. Our international student cohorts are from around 30 different countries with our largest student cohorts coming from India, China and Korea.

You will be tasked with following the framework of The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2019, working with internal stakeholders and key external agencies and carrying out project/event management tasks to meet the International Centre needs.

You must be able to work in a multi-cultural space, contribute positively when teamwork is required, and flex to take individual responsibility on specific projects.

You must be able to effectively prioritise your work and multi-task and demonstrate excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Your skillset will allow you to be approachable and responsive in different areas of student support and wellbeing, whilst working collaboratively with the international team and key internal stakeholders.

- Be super organised and proactive with excellent process and administrative skills
- Have excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Be able to follow processes, solve problems, take ownership
- Have a high level of integrity and professionalism

Strong interpersonal skills will be vital to ensure success in this role. You will be known for your empathetic approach to managing relationships and take pride in assisting students to achieve their goals. You will have a tertiary qualification and a valid New Zealand driver's license.

Knowledge of the tertiary education system is desirable as well as basic understanding of The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2019.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. Competency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, Sharepoint, and CRM systems is required. Speaking a second language is highly desired.
