Mō te tūranga | About the role
The Infrastructure Regulation Branch is responsible for making New Zealanders better off through the economic regulation of monopoly infrastructure in Aotearoa. This includes electricity, gas, fibre and airports.
The Infrastructure Regulation branch is looking for an analyst to join the team until December 2024 to support our Fibre team reset Chorus' 2025-2028 price-quality path. You'll gather and critically analyse qualitative and quantitative information, identify key issues, draw logical conclusions and present these back to our decision makers.
Based in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) office.

A true team player, you'll be experienced working in a fast-paced environment and bring a proactive and solutions-focused approach. You'll be able to think, write and communicate clearly and offer sound critical thinking skills and be comfortable presenting to stakeholders at all levels.

**You will also have some of the following**:

- the ability to prioritise, focus on high value outputs and resolve challenging problems
- relationship management skills
- policy or regulatory experience
- report-writing experience
- the ability to understand accounting and economic principles and interpret legislation.

We know that a diverse team with a range of life and work experiences enables high performance and innovation. The kinds of work experience you might have includes:

- technical accounting analysis
- finance and capital budgeting
- financial audit
- economic or legal policy analysis

A university degree in an analytical field (e.g. accounting, economics, finance, commerce, law, science, or statistics) would be an advantage but is not essential.
