**About the role**

The hazardous waste technician is responsible for the treatment and management of a variety of waste types. This role takes the lead within the facility operations ensuring correct process is maintained and a safe and healthy operation at all times. Well supported by the Operations Manager and Auckland Technical Waste Lead you will be responsible for driving and operation of machinery required for processing of waste and treating waste products in line with treatment procedures.

The technical stuff you'll need includes:

- Current drivers licence as appropriate for the class of vehicle to be operated
- Previous experience in dealing with chemical or technical waste
- Certified Handler certificate or previous experience
- A working knowledge of day to day planning of jobs and following work instructions to meet contract specification.
- Exposure to and knowledge of comprehensive safety managements systems including Hazard Analysis will be an advantage
- Preferred First aid training
- Preferred Manual handling training
- The ability to reverse vehicles confidently in tight spaces

Skills Required
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
- The ability to work unsupervised but also work well in a team environment
