Mō te tūnga | About the role
The Wellington District Intelligence Unit supports Police to prevent crime and harm through exceptional policing. Our mahi is used to inform deployment of resources, understand the criminal environment and crime problems, and facilitate evidence-based action and prevention.
We are an innovative team, and proud of our positive culture of collaboration and development that supports this mindset.

Your engagement in your own professional development will be shown through proactively growing your knowledge of policing and seeking feedback on your own work. Your willingness to get out and talk to people, and critically and thoughtfully engage with what you find, will enhance your understanding of the Intelligence contribution required to ensure positive outcomes for the District.
**Key Accountabilities**:

- Manage competing priorities and demands to deliver timely, relevant Intelligence and achieve results for the team.
- Act as a technical advisor to the District Manager of Intelligence and contribute to the District’s Intelligence Leadership Team.
- Maintain currency with evolving Intelligence best practices and use this to enable the District Intelligence Unit to remain aligned with developing techniques and innovations.
