**The Opportunity**:
We are currently seeking an experienced Site & Facilities Manager on a 2 year contract whilst our current Manager is seconded to an exciting refurbishment project at our Auckland Laboratory. In this role you will be responsible for overall management of current and new contracts and contractors in accordance with AsureQuality requirements for site and buildings. You will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of site services/maintenance plans and providing support to Calibration services.
Your key duties will involve;
- Ensuring the site service and maintenance plan covering all areas remains updated and maintained and ensuring facilities meet Quarantine requirements.
- Management of the In-House engineering and facilities team
- Management and monitoring of contractors, ensuring complete compliance to site maintenance and security, and ACC audit requirements.
- Accurate and timely processing of service and maintenance requests. Be able to recognize risk assessments on requests and immediately prioritise to ensure safe running of the site and ensure all H&S protocols are followed.
- Provide technical assistance and support to calibration processes and activities and authorised signatory for calibration sign off.
- Identify processes improvement opportunities, service efficiency, cost minimisation and reduction of the laboratory's environmental impact.
- Oversee and monitor CAPEX requests to ensure relevancy.
- Identify any quality assurance issues in relation to site and buildings. Ensure that all laboratory and regulatory quality assurance procedures are adhered to.
- Complete Special projects as and when required.
- Participate and contribute to health and safety continuous improvement initiatives. Report all incidents, including near misses, ensure safe work practices are followed, proactively promote safe behaviour and injury prevention.
- Support the Find a Better Way programme through understanding and participation.

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will have:

- Trade qualification with understanding of site management at a complex multi-faceted facility.
- Previous experience managing a small team of maintenance personnel in a busy multidisciplined engineering department. Sound knowledge of HR protocols and ability to undertake performance reviews as required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to prioritise and manage time efficiently
- Demonstrated commitment to Health and Safety
- Experience in driving operational activities to ensure work is completed safely, with quality, on time and costs are minimised
- Computer literate MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Able to accommodate flexible working hours as the Auckland Laboratory site runs 7days/week
