**M**ō** te t**ū**ranga | About the Role**

Reporting to the Inwards Goods Supervisor, and with a dotted line of responsibility to Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager you will be based at our largest site in Mt Wellington which processes premium fish for the local markets and export.

The primary focus of the role is to undertake the reception of fish into the Mt Wellington operation in a safe and efficient manner, conducting quality checks, escalating issues in a time manner and ensuring quality is maintained to the highest standard at all times, and all fish is accounted for and allocated.

You need to be physically fit and can lift between 15 -20kgs.

**Key tasks and responsibilities are**:

- Liaise with the processing Supervisors and drivers to ensure the efficient receipt and processing of fish.
- Ensure incoming seals are checked and noted on the relevant inwards dockets when needed for traceability purpose,
- Assist with receiving and verifying Fish Landing Dockets for all deliveries to the Inshore chillers.
- Ensure all product is recorded accurately into the XIMS and that all bins/dolavs are bar coded in compliance with processing & system requirements.
- De-ice fish to orders needed and fish load out of trucks to domestic customers if needed.
- Undertake inspection of bulk packaging.
- To ensure product quality is maintained throughout the cold chain
- Accurately complete and document quality checks
- Conduct daily pre-op, in-process and despatch quality checks on all product lines packed for Key Customers
- Health & Safety awareness/knowledge

- Ideally will have tertiary level qualification or similar level in relevant discipline such as Food Science, Quality or Risk Management or will be qualified by experience
- Approximately 2-3 years of experience in a Quality Controller role within Primary Industries, FMCG or Fresh foods environment
- Knowledge & experience with Quality Management Systems, including GMP/Food safety regulations.
- HACCP qualification is advantageous but not essential.
- Achieving results - Maintain high standards of performance, takes responsibility and pride in work
- successfully completing assignments and tasks to the highest standard.
- Strong computer skills

**Hours**: Monday to Friday 05:00 am to 1:30 pm. Overtime and Saturday work will also be required at peak times

You will have sound experience in compliance, risk, and quality assurance within Primary industries, FMCG or fresh food environments. You must be process driven, operationally astute and possess the natural ability to solve problems, coach and engage with people at all levels.
