Your role


We are currently seeking a motivated and dynamic Quality Control Chemist to join our Mount Maunganui site in the beautiful Bay of Plenty.


Working within a small, multi-disciplinary team and reporting to the Quality Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing and influencing the required technical, quality assurance and process support to the Ixom business to ensure we meet and/or exceed legislative and customer requirements.


Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely investigation in to process variation in manufacture of site products
  • Research and assess the viability of new products and processes for the site
  • Support and develop aspects of food Safety and the importance of GMP in activities on site
  • Accountable for implementation of laboratory management protocols and ensure these meet the relevant legislative guidelines.
  • Effective faultfinding techniques to identify and understand problem areas of the Plant / Process.
  • Accountable to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders as to ensure process and product improvements are made.
  • Support traceability initiatives
  • Develop new analytical methods where required

Your skills & experience

  • Previous experience working in laboratory and/or manufacturing environment
  • Tertiary qualified in Science or Engineering
  • Prior experience working in a chemical plants, food/dairy or water industry
  • Working knowledge of SHEQ standards and regulations in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work successfully in cross functional teams
  • Knowledge and experience in an operating number of analytical instruments
  • Fault finding and problemsolving skills
  • Strong knowledge of computerbased control systems
  • A working knowledge of SAP is also desirable
