This is an exciting opportunity to provide 12 months parental leave cover as a Senior Advisor in the Ministry of Justice's Strategic Sourcing Team within Commercial Services.

No two days will be the same. You will support the broadest range of sourcing activities including social services - every category except property procurement comes through our team.

Core responsibilities in this role include:

- Lead and manage the plan and source stages of procurement activities
- Provide robust commercial advice to support sound decision making
- Expertly navigate and influence a wide range of stakeholder relationships
- Contribute to development and implementation of strategies, policies and processes
- Provide peer-to-peer support and mentoring to other team members

**Ō** pūkenga/Skills and Experience**

To be successful in this role you will bring your:

- Ability to use robust knowledge of procurement principles and practices within the NZ public service to support delivery of projects and build effective relationships with stakeholders (high).
- Experience and ability finding mutually acceptable solutions or outcomes between parties or stakeholders that have differing priorities and/or drivers (high).
- Experience developing and contributing towards principles-driven procurement processes and policies that build a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Understanding and appreciation of cultural issues and concerns in particular Tikanga Maori
- Working knowledge of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and the implications of these for the work of Te Tāhū o te Ture - Ministry of Justice

The Commercial Services unit sits within the Corporate Services group. It provides advice and manages efficient, value for money procurement practices for the Ministry, including advising and developing the Ministry's procurement strategy and policies in line with the Government Procurement Rules. The unit aims to optimise costs, ensure product and service quality, and to mitigate procurement-related risks. Our work spans the whole contract life cycle from the identification of needs through to the end of a service contract, or the end of the useful life and disposal of an asset.

The Strategic Sourcing Team is responsible for the enterprise-wide sourcing strategy and activities. From routine secondary procurement processes through to outcomes-based significant social services delivery, this team handles a wide range of initiatives and supports every part of the Ministry.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $110,766 and $143,388 based on skills and experience.
