We have a full-time permanent position (40 hours/week) available for an exceptional, forward thinking senior nurse who is currently working in a tertiary NICU and is flexible, resilient and can manage a busy workload.
The Nurse Specialist Intern - Neonatal, Starship Child Health is an advanced nursing practice role and is responsible for providing specialist clinical care and coordination of care for infants within Newborn Services in Starship Child Health. This role is specifically an intern role for the preparation of Nurse Practitioner Child and Youth (Newborn) attainment.

**To be successful in this role you will**:

- have a minimum of 4 years Neonatal care experience
- have obtained or working towards an approved clinical Master's degree
- have a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- Minimum Level 4 practice.

Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Te Toka Tumai Auckland and is the only comprehensive children's hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is a 40 cot unit consisting of 18 intensive care and 22 high dependency cots. NICU cares for babies born premature from 23 weeks gestation and is the referral centre for babies who need paediatric cardiology services, neonatal surgery or treatment for complex metabolic diseases.
Located on level nine of Auckland City Hospital - directly across from our National Women's labour and delivery suite, you will work amongst the largest maternity service in New Zealand with approximately 7,500 deliveries per year and around 900 infants admitted to NICU.
