**About us**:
We want more good people to come and do great things with us.
We love where we live. That’s why we work so hard to look after our region and the people who live and work in the Waikato region.
Customers sit at the heart of everything we do, and all staff have an important role to play in the delivery of exceptional customer service.
Our work is as diverse as the region we care for; from the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula to the slopes of Ruapehu. We’ve got ambitious goals and there are some tricky issues, but that’s what makes it so interesting.
Looking for flexible ways of working options, at Waikato Regional Council we are committed to working more creatively to ‘get work done’ in a way that is of mutual benefit to you, the organisation and our communities.
**About you**:
You will be an experienced and articulate change leader and team player, who inspires others with your passion for organisational improvement in the areas of systems, processes, and culture. You will possess well developed written and verbal communication skills and be motivated by creating clarity out of confusing and ambiguous situations.
Qualifications:
You will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in policy, business management and/or a related field. It is desirable that you also hold project management professional credentials.
**Experience**:
You will be able to demonstrate experience implementing business transformation, business planning and project management processes. You will be comfortable utilising and presenting data in an interesting and effective way that enables informed decision making and a clear focus on priority areas critical for the organisation’s success.
**About the role**:
You will be accountable to the Director of Customer, Community and Services for leading the development and evolution of Te Ara Tupu, the system that supports the organisation to deliver on its strategic direction through the provision of continuously improving internal services. You will lead and participate in projects that support business transformation, the work of the Customer, Community and Services directorate and WRC.
A critical focus area of this role is ensuring the Director and Executive team (through the Corporate Strategy Group) are provided with information and insights that support the identification and implementation of business transformation and improvement initiatives that help achieve organisational strategic priorities.
The Principal Advisors work programme includes the development and leadership of projects and change initiatives, and the monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of internal operational activities.
