Counties Manukau is seeking interest from experienced dietitians with advanced leadership skills to lead professional practice, introduce innovations and manage quality and clinical risks.

Reporting to the Chief of Allied Health, the Professional Leader for Dietetics is responsible for providing professional/clinical leadership to the team of dietitians employed at Counties. The purpose is to support the workforce capability by ensuring high quality practice standards and competency processes are in place. The role will also support the management of clinical risks including reduction in waitlists and advance the achievement of equitable health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

The professional leader is expected to lead and direct quality improvement initiatives and provide guidance to staff and managers on professional development for dietitians. Working with others, the professional leader will also advance the achievement of care capacity demand management programme goals including review of Trendcare data and data collection processes.

Working alongside other allied health professional leaders, Clinical Directors of Allied Health Scientific and Technical and in close collaboration with Service and Operations Managers, you will advise on dietetic services as well contribute to strategy at local, regional and national levels.

This role is scoped at 12 hours per week and additional hours in a clinical role or another role within the organisation would be considered. We currently have clinical opportunities in critical care, community, renal, diabetes and community health services.

**Essential**:

- Relevant Dietetic qualification and current Annual Practising Certificate
- 4-5 years relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Proven experience in leading teams, projects and initiatives
- Leadership skills - either qualification or significant experience
